Victims can be granted criminal injury claims between £1000 and £250,000, depending on the level of injuries they have sustained. This however, has to be verified. After you file your criminal injury claims, you will be assigned an officer, who will investigate the situation. He/she will check the level of the crime, how involved you were in it. Whether you were really present or not, your medical bills to verify the extent of damages, and the witnesses given by a doctor, your family, friends, colleagues and neighbours to determine the level of trauma. If it appears severe, they could also ask for professional opinions. After making these enquiries, he/she will write a report and send it to the CICA office.
